ShotSpotter is a system that detects and conveys the location of weapon fire using acoustic, optical, or other types of sensors. These systems are used by law enforcement, security, military and businesses to identify the source and the direction of gunfire as well as the type of weapon fired. The programmatic use seems to establish the escalation of conflicts as a reality of the urban and thus shifts the interest in an emerging action to its evaluation and the identification of the actors involved.

The exhibition Face my boost by your ShotSpotter thematizes the blurring of the silhouettes of the presented works, their material as well as their contentual substance and gathers artistic positions that come together from different directions and behave dissonantly or narrate their attribution of a genre and its conventions by their medium or carrier.

Commissioned by Marcel Hiller, Arthur Löwen and Markus Saile
